Biography
Sadiq Farhad oglu Akhundov was born in 1991 in the city of Lankaran.
He began his career in 2009 as a specialist in the Bank Systems Department of "Azerigazbank" OJSC and held various positions at the bank, including Head of the Software and Platforms Management Department. In 2017–2019, he was Head of the Database and Programming Department of "Amrahbank" OJSC, and in 2019–2024, he served as Director of the Information Technologies Department of "ZiraatBank Azerbaijan" OJSC.
From March to July 2024, he worked as an adviser in the Chairman's Office Department of the Central Bank, and from July 2024 to April 2026, he served as Director of the Information Technology Operations Department. Since 1 May 2026, he has been Director General of the Central Bank. He is married and has two children.
