Each band applies only to the part of the income that falls into it. The 200 ₼ tax-free slice applies only when monthly income is up to 2,500 ₼.

Private sector transition
From 2019 to 2025 monthly income up to 8,000 ₼ in the private non-oil sector was tax-free. From 2026 the rate on the first 2,500 ₼ rises in steps: 3% in 2026, 5% in 2027, 7% in 2028. The 10% band for 2,500–8,000 and 14% above 8,000 do not change.

What is deducted from a salary in 2026?
Four deductions come out of an employee's gross salary: income tax, the compulsory state social insurance contribution (DSMF), unemployment insurance (0.5%) and compulsory medical insurance. The rates depend on the sector: in the private non-oil sector in 2026 income tax is 3% up to 2,500 ₼, 10% between 2,500 and 8,000 and 14% above 8,000; in the public and oil-and-gas sector it is 14% on the part from 200 to 2,500 ₼ and 25% above 2,500.
What is the net pay on a 1,000 ₼ gross salary?
In the private sector in 2026 a 1,000 ₼ gross salary carries income tax of (1000−200)×3%, DSMF of 6+(1000−200)×10% = 86 ₼, unemployment insurance of 5 ₼ and medical insurance of 20 ₼. In the public sector income tax is (1000−200)×14% = 112 ₼, DSMF 3% = 30, unemployment 5, medical 20 ₼. Pick the sector in the calculator for the exact figure.
How do I work out gross from net?
Choose "Net to gross" in the calculator and enter your take-home amount: the deductions are worked backwards and the calculator shows the gross figure that should be in the contract.
How much does the employer pay?
On top of the gross salary the employer pays, out of its own funds, DSMF (in the private sector 22% up to 200 ₼, 15% for 200–8,000 and 11% above; 22% in the public sector), unemployment insurance of 0.5% and compulsory medical insurance (2%, 0.5% above the threshold). The calculator shows this amount separately.
