Vugar Gulmammadov
Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts
Biography
Vugar Gulmammadov was born on 3 April 1971 in Baku.
In 1992, he worked as a translator at the Surakhani Machine-Building Plant, and from 1993 to 1997 as deputy chief accountant and chief accountant at the Surakhani District Health Department. From 1997 to 2007, he held the positions of leading economist, deputy head, head of department and head of sector at the Surakhani, Sabail, Binagadi and Yasamal district financial bodies of the Ministry of Finance. From 2007 to 2009, he was head of the Chamber of Accounts’ Department for Control over Foreign-Invested and Infrastructure Projects, and from 2009 to 2013, head of the Department for Control over Investments.
On 22 November 2013, he was appointed Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts by a decision of the Milli Majlis, and on 11 December 2020, he was reappointed to this position.
In 2011, he was awarded the “For Distinction in Civil Service” medal, and in 2021, the 3rd degree “For Service to the Homeland” Order. He is married and has three children.
