Direct flights between the Iranian capital of Tehran and Moscow have resumed, with Mahan Air operating its first service on the route since February 26.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing RIA Novosti and the information service of Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport, the Iranian carrier's aircraft departed from Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA). The flight was scheduled to arrive at Sheremetyevo's Terminal C at 09:18 Moscow time, marking a significant step in restoring regular air communication between the two capitals.

The resumption of these flights underscores the strengthening bilateral ties between Iran and Russia, which have seen increased cooperation in various sectors, including transport and logistics. Historically, the Tehran-Moscow air corridor has served as a vital link for diplomatic and commercial exchange between the two nations. The return of Mahan Air's services is expected to facilitate easier travel for business and diplomatic purposes, following a period of limited direct connectivity since late February.
