Sumgait to face Zira without three players

Sumgait will be without three players when they visit Zira in the ninth round of the Misli Premier League. Club spokesperson Zaur Khudiyev said midfielder Sabuhi Abdullazada and forwards Rustam Ahmadzada and Jeam Oliveira would miss the match.

Khudiyev said Sumgait have no suspended players. Ahmadzada, who was injured in the club’s seventh-round match against Gabala, is expected to be sidelined for two weeks, while Oliveira will be out for six to eight weeks.

Abdullazada is expected to be out for about five months. He was sent off in the 74th minute of Sumgait’s first-round match against Neftchi. Later, in a corridor, he broke a glass pane with his hand; a large shard fell onto his foot, causing a serious injury.

Zira and Sumgait will meet at the Zira Sports Complex stadium on October 23. Kickoff is at 19:00. Zira are currently sixth in the standings with 12 points, while Sumgait are eighth with eight points.
