Private companies in Azerbaijan will join the state’s electronic document system.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Nurlan Soltanov, head of the Modern Technologies and Innovations Department at the Ministry of Finance’s Apparatus, made the announcement at a conference in Baku titled “Digital Finance Ecosystem: A New Stage in Governance.”
He said government agencies and businesses already use the electronic contract system. “The system makes it possible to prepare acceptance and handover certificates in less time than stipulated by regulatory legal acts and to speed up processes. This is an important advantage not only for government agencies but also for businesses and the private sector. For example, starting next year, the digitization of acceptance and handover certificates will also cover the private sector. This is an important step toward involving parties that are not government agencies in the process.”
Soltanov added that private-sector representatives would also take part in the process being implemented by the Ministry of Finance. “The changes we are introducing do not mean that all the processes businesses are accustomed to will be overhauled. The main goal is to speed up existing processes and ensure that information can be obtained promptly. The electronic invoice system is one example. It has been operating since last year and is already actively used by many government agencies. Relevant transactions are carried out through electronic invoices. Work is also under way to involve the private sector in these processes. Banks and other private businesses are already actively participating.”
