Fiscal risks related to Azerbaijan’s 2027 state budget include the possibility that revenue, spending and public debt will deviate from initial forecasts.
The draft 2027 budget package outlines the risks, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
The document is being discussed at a meeting of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship today.
“Changes in the global and regional economic environment, volatility in energy and other commodity prices, as well as the pace of domestic economic activity, are among the main factors that could affect key fiscal indicators. Deviations in macroeconomic indicators from forecasts as a result of these factors could cause budget revenues and expenditures, as well as the fiscal balance, to diverge from expected levels. Implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks that could cause spending and the fiscal balance to deviate from expected levels is an important part of fiscal risk management. Systematic analysis and assessment of fiscal risks are particularly important to ensuring the sustainability of public finances and implementing fiscal policy in line with established targets,” the budget package says.
