Barcelona has decided to strengthen its defence after losing 2-4 to PSG and 1-2 to Real Madrid. The Catalan club intends to sign an experienced defender in the winter transfer window. MD published the report by Mundo Deportivo.
According to the report, Barcelona is interested in Manchester City player Josko Gvardiol. The only realistic route to signing him would be for Manchester City to face sanctions for breaching the English Premier League’s financial rules.
Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni is also on the Catalan club’s radar. However, it is considered unlikely that the Milan club will open talks over selling the player in the winter.
Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez is viewed as the most promising candidate. His contract expires in the summer of 2027. The Argentine player has previously criticised the club’s transfer policy publicly.
Barcelona is also monitoring Betis defender Natan. The Spanish club could sell the player for 30 million euros plus bonuses.
