Turkish club Fenerbahce is preparing to appoint Portuguese coach Sergio Conceicao as head coach.
"Operativ Məlumat Mərkəzi-OMM" reports that HT Spor correspondent Esra Kose reported the news for Haberturk.
The Istanbul club has reached an agreement on the 51-year-old coach’s candidacy and invited him to Istanbul, according to the report. Conceicao is expected to arrive in Turkey soon.
Fenerbahce management has also consulted several people about the Portuguese coach, the report said. Conceicao’s candidacy is said to have received positive feedback from Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola.
HT Spor commentator Necati Mete said Conceicao could arrive in Istanbul before the match against Liverpool. The coach’s ability to make quick decisions in difficult situations was also among the factors influencing the choice, he said.
Won 11 trophies with Porto
Sergio Conceicao achieved the greatest success of his coaching career with Portugal’s Porto. He was appointed head coach in 2017 and led the team for seven seasons.
During that period, Porto won the Portuguese league three times, the national cup four times, the Super Cup three times and the League Cup once.

Conceicao was appointed head coach of Milan in December 2024. Although he won the Italian Super Cup with the club, he left the position in May 2025. His most recent club was Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad, which he left in June 2026.
Conceicao has won a total of 12 titles during his coaching career.
