Araz-Nakhchivan have appointed Yuri Maksimov as their new head coach.
According to information provided by the club to “Operative Information Center-OMM”, the Ukrainian specialist has signed a contract running until the end of the 2026-27 season. Further information on appointments to the coaching staff will be announced later.
Maksimov, 58, has previously managed Vorskla, Dnipro-1, Polissya, Taraz, Mordovia, Metallurg, Kryvbas, Obolon and CSKA Kyiv. He also coached Azerbaijan’s Kesla, now known as Shamakhi, from December 2017 to July 2018, winning the Azerbaijan Cup. The competition is one of the country’s two major domestic football tournaments, alongside the Azerbaijan Premier League.
