Former UFC champion Khamzat Chimaev said he is ready to compete regularly in freestyle wrestling. He will face Colby Covington at a RAF event in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 14.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Chimaev said Covington talks a lot but has never wrestled him. He said his opponent had no chance against him and that he was the better wrestler. Chimaev said Covington was talking because this was his last chance to make money.
“I’m ready to wrestle any opponent. I want to stay active and can wrestle every week, whether it’s King Kong or Brock Lesnar. My goal is to be the best and prove it to people,” Chimaev said.
He also said he would take the championship belt from Covington and wrestle bigger opponents.
