Details have emerged about the arrest of Rasim Yusifov, the husband of singer Gullu Muradova.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports, citing Qafqazinfo, that Yusifov told the court the information about him had been passed to police by his former wife.
Yusifov was detained on suspicion of drug use near the Jomard cafe in the area known as the Fifth District of Sumgayit.
Yusifov, born in 1987, said in his statement that he had not used drugs: “No illegal items were found on me at the time of the incident. I said that I was not a drug user. I suspect my former wife, Ayshan Gasimova, claimed that I used drugs. I lived in Germany for many years. I currently travel there several times a year. Because I have a severe allergy, I take a medicine called ‘Citricilin.’ I always buy it in Germany when I travel there. I do not know whether it contains any narcotic substances. However, it is prohibited to drive after taking this medicine. It causes weakness and fatigue.”
The court found Yusifov’s drug use fully proven by his own admission, the findings of a forensic narcological examination and other case materials.
