A bus driver who uses drugs has been detained.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said this.
According to the information, officers of the Environmental Control Traffic Police Unit stopped a bus driver who was driving under the influence of drugs.
Elvin Mammadov, a resident of Zagatala district, was stopped while driving a Daewoo bus after violating maneuvering rules. His behavior raised suspicion, so he was sent for a medical examination, which confirmed drug use.
Materials concerning Mammadov were submitted to court, which sentenced him to 20 days of administrative detention.
Although an incident that could have endangered passengers’ lives was prevented in time, the Main State Traffic Police Department again urged individuals and legal entities involved in passenger transport to take more effective measures in this area and strengthen legally required oversight of the drivers they employ.
