Temperatures in Azerbaijan in October were 3 degrees Celsius above the climate norm.

Temperatures were above the climate norm on 25 days of the month, by 1 to 8 degrees, and below it on three days, by 1 to 6 degrees. Temperatures were within the norm on three days. The average monthly temperature was 19 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees above the climate norm.
The highest temperatures recorded were 30 degrees Celsius in Sumgait on October 18 in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, and 34 degrees in Zangilan on October 14 in the regions. The lowest temperature in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula was 10 degrees Celsius in Baku on October 4. In high-mountain areas, the temperature fell to 5 degrees below zero at Shahdag on the same date.
Intermittent rain and thunderstorms occurred on some days in October. Rain was intense, heavy and downpour-like in some areas. Sleet and snow fell in mountainous areas. The maximum snow depth was 10 cm in Griz, Guba. Overall, the regions recorded precipitation on 30 days during the month. The highest rainfall totals were 199 mm in Neftchala, in the Central Aran zone, equivalent to 441% of the monthly norm; 206 mm in the Kishchay area of Shaki, in the Balakan-Shaki zone, or 238% of the norm; and 84 mm at Neft Dashlari, in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, or 448% of the norm.
Hail was recorded during October in some areas of Yardimli and Gadabay districts, in Yukhari Tala village in Zagatala district, in Oxud and Kishchay villages in Shaki district, and in Bichenek village in Shahbuz district. The largest hailstones, measuring 18 to 20 mm in diameter, were recorded in Yardimli district on October 10.
Windy conditions were observed for four days in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula and for 11 days in the regions. Maximum wind speeds reached 27 meters per second in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula and 20 meters per second in the regions.
