Gabala have announced the appointment of their new head coach.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the regional club’s press service, reports that the “red-and-blacks” have signed North Macedonian coach Yeton Bekiri to a 1+2-year contract.
The 44-year-old most recently managed Shkendija in his home country.
Over the years, he has coached Drita, Gostivar, Renova and Struga, all in North Macedonia, as well as Albania’s Bilis. He has also served as sporting director of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Jabalain.
Bekiri led Shkendija to the North Macedonian league title in the 2024/25 season. He will begin work at Gabala on Sept. 20.
Gabala is one of Azerbaijan’s established football clubs and competes in the country’s domestic league and cup competitions. The appointment gives the club a coach with experience in both club management and sporting administration across several leagues.
