A two-seat private aircraft that took off from Georgia’s Batumi made a forced landing in the sea off the coast of Türkiye’s Rize province.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Turkish media, that the aircraft was flying from Batumi to Ordu-Giresun Airport when it made an emergency landing in the sea near Pazar district due to a technical malfunction.
Following the report of the incident, personnel from the Turkish Coast Guard Command were dispatched to the area.
Rescuers safely evacuated the two people on board.
The individuals, who sustained injuries in the incident, were taken to Kaçkar State Hospital as a precaution.
Türkiye’s Coast Guard is responsible for maritime search-and-rescue operations and emergency response along the country’s coastline.
