Fines for using a phone while driving and for illegal advertising on vehicles will be imposed under a new procedure.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the issue is included in a draft law amending the criminal and administrative offenses codes.

Under the draft, fines for using a phone while driving and for illegal advertising on vehicles will be imposed under a new procedure.

Some administrative offenses can be detected using special technical devices equipped with photo or video recording functions. In such cases, proceedings are conducted differently from the usual procedure.

The current draft law proposes adding offenses under Articles 342.6 — a driver using a phone while holding it in hand as the vehicle is moving — and 428.5 — distributing advertisements on vehicles without the approval of the relevant executive authority or in violation of rules for placing advertisements on vehicles — to the list of cases covered by this procedure.

Accordingly, a fine of 50 manat will be imposed when these violations are detected.
