US President Donald Trump has described his visit to Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum as "excellent," highlighting several strategic achievements for American interests.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of state shared the update on his Truth Social account, emphasizing that the trip resulted in significant diplomatic and security breakthroughs.

According to US President Donald Trump, the primary successes of the visit include:

  • Greenland Agreement: A framework agreement has been signed with NATO regarding Greenland. Trump noted that the island's strategic position is vital for US national security and the effective implementation of the "Golden Dome" missile defense system.
  • Establishment of the Peace Council: A new international structure has been created with the aim of ensuring peace in the Gaza Strip.

On January 22, representatives from 19 countries signed the charter of the Peace Council in Davos. Based on an agreement between Israel and Hamas, this body will oversee the administration of Gaza and work toward resolving conflicts in other regions. US President Donald Trump stated that additional nations have already begun joining the organization.

The World Economic Forum (WEF), held annually in Davos, serves as a premier global platform for political, business, and cultural leaders to shape global, regional, and industry agendas. The 2025 forum has been particularly significant for Azerbaijan and its partners as they navigate evolving geopolitical dynamics and seek to strengthen international cooperation in energy security and regional stability.
