Gabala head coach Yeton Bekiri assessed his side’s 3-0 win over Mingachevir in the second qualifying round of the Azerbaijan Cup. The result sent the regional team through to the next round.
Bekiri said it was important to win the cup match and advance. He said they had given more playing time to players who feature less often in the league. The coach added that finishing the match without injuries or other setbacks was also important for the team.
“We controlled the game for 90 minutes. We scored three goals in the first half. After the break, I also wanted the players to score more. Overall, it was a good game in which we had the upper hand,” Bekiri said.
