Rodri admits Barcelona were outplayed by Real Madrid

Barcelona lost 2-1 to Real Madrid at home in the 10th round of Spain’s La Liga. The match was played on October 25 and kicked off at 00:00 Baku time on October 26. The Madrid side, led by Jose Mourinho, secured the win.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring in the 41st minute, and Raphinha equalised in the 61st. Mbappe scored again in the 87th minute to give Real Madrid the victory.

After the match, Rodri said the opponents had been superior on the pitch: “If the opponent is stronger than you on the pitch, you simply have to acknowledge it honestly. That evening, our team clearly lacked sharpness in the opponent’s penalty area.”

The midfielder stressed that the season was still in October and that a long campaign lay ahead. He said Barcelona should approach the rest of the season with humility, keep working hard and correct the mistakes they had made. Rodri’s comments were reported by Diario Sport.
