The Catalan club defender is expected to miss about seven weeks with a right ankle injury.
Barcelona have issued an update on defender Xavi Espart’s injury. The 19-year-old was hurt in the first half of the La Liga match against Real Madrid in the 10th round. The Catalan side lost the game 2-1.
Medical examinations confirmed an injury to the syndesmosis in Espart’s right ankle. The defender is expected to be sidelined for about seven weeks.
