Barcelona midfielder Rodri has shared his thoughts ahead of the upcoming El Clasico. The Catalan side will host Real Madrid at Camp Nou in the 10th round of La Liga.
“Returning to Spanish football and playing in an El Clasico is a great joy. Given how important the event is worldwide, matches like this are in a class of their own,” Rodri told Marca.
He said players who have competed in the English Premier League had not received as much attention or recognition in La Liga as they could have. “For example, players who had played in the Premier League were not valued that highly, and they did not generate the level of attention they could have in La Liga,” he said.
Rodri said he considered himself fortunate to have the opportunity to play in matches like this. The midfielder said the whole world focuses on the El Clasico and people stop to watch it. He added that he hoped the match would be a good one.
The Barcelona-Real Madrid match will kick off on October 25 at 00:00 Baku time.
