US President Donald Trump has described the White House as a “real dump” ahead of a large-scale renovation of the building.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that he made the remarks in a post on the Truth Social platform.
Trump wrote:
“The White House was in very bad shape, both outside and inside. Frankly, it was a real dump! Previous presidents did not take care of it.” The US leader added that he enjoys spending his free time working on the renovation of the White House.
Earlier, Trump unveiled plans for a new ballroom to be built on the site of the White House’s East Wing.
The White House serves as the official residence and workplace of the US president. Major renovations to the historic complex typically require careful planning to preserve its architectural and historical features.
