Araz-Nakhchivan beat Shimal 6-0 away in the second qualifying round of the Azerbaijan Cup. Coach Zaur Ismayilov said after the match that the first half was tense and the opposition put up resistance.
Ismayilov said the instructions given to the players at halftime paid off in the second half. The team moved more and made the most of the chances it created.
“Regardless of who the opponent was, we fought to win. The first half was tense, and the opposition managed to put up resistance. We gave the players some instructions at halftime, and we saw the results in the second half. The team moved more and managed to convert the chances it created,” the coach said.
Ismayilov noted that during the match they also tried to give playing time to players who had not featured in other matches. He congratulated Shimal on its performance.
