A fire broke out aboard a vessel sailing 25 nautical miles northeast of Khasab, Oman.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” said the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) had reported the incident.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, TRT Haber reported. Details about the crew’s condition, the extent of the damage and any possible environmental threat are being investigated.
Authorities have warned other vessels passing through the area to exercise caution and immediately notify UKMTO if they observe any suspicious activity. The name of the vessel and the country whose flag it was sailing under have not been disclosed.
