Araz-Nakhchivan futsal player Oktay Rustamli has spoken about scoring a hat-trick against Ujpest in the main round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League and scoring again in his team’s defeat to Buba Mara. He shared his views in comments to the Azerbaijan Futsal Federation.
Rustamli said the match against Hungarian side Ujpest was intense and entertaining, citing the teams’ scoring opportunities and the atmosphere. He said Araz-Nakhchivan had the upper hand and secured victory by converting most of its chances. Rustamli said he was pleased to score a hat-trick in a match played under the UEFA banner, but stressed that the team’s success was the main priority.
The forward said his team created more chances against Buba Mara than it had against Ujpest but converted only three of them. In Rustamli’s view, the opponent was not superior, but made better use of its chances to win 5-3. He said he was disappointed that his goal had not helped the team secure a victory.
Rustamli said every team in the group still had a chance to finish top and that the final round of matches would be intense. He said Araz-Nakhchivan would work to reach the round of 16.
