The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it captured and landed a US MQM-170 reconnaissance drone during an electronic warfare operation over the western part of the Strait of Hormuz.
Foreign media reported the development, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
The drone was reportedly intended to gather intelligence on Iranian air defense systems along the coasts of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
IRGC Navy specialists examined data retrieved from the drone and determined that its flight had begun from the southern coast of one of the Persian Gulf states.
