Sergio Perez has extended his contract with the Cadillac Formula One team. The agreement will run at least through the end of the 2029 season.
The U.S. team, which made its Formula One debut this year, has yet to score points this season. Perez’s teammate is Valtteri Bottas. Cadillac’s early challenges were expected, with the new technical regulations for power units introduced in 2026 also having an impact.
The team continues to place its trust in Perez. At the upcoming Mexico City Grand Prix, the Mexican driver could become the seventh driver in Formula One history to reach 300 career starts.
“Ahead of a special weekend in Mexico, we are pleased to announce that Checo will remain an integral part of the Cadillac Formula One team for many years to come. Building a competitive team is a long process. Retaining Checo’s talent and leadership gives us the continuity and commitment we need to strengthen the foundations we have laid in our first year. As we focus on the next stage of our journey, we will work to move the team forward and climb the grid,” Cadillac Chief Executive Officer Dan Towriss said.
