Portugal’s national team has congratulated Cristiano Ronaldo on being named the winner of the “all-time Ballon d’Or.”
“Since 2008 and forever. The all-time Ballon d’Or belongs to a Portuguese player. Congratulations, captain!” the team said in a post.
Ronaldo’s 2008 Ballon d’Or was voted the best in history in a fan poll held on the France Football website.
Ronaldo was previously suspended from Portugal matches for 30 days and fined 255 euros for leaving the national team camp without permission following a dispute with head coach Jorge Jesus.
