A new park is being built on 28 May Street in Baku’s Nasimi district, on the site of a former railway car repair facility, extending to The Ritz-Carlton Baku.
The Baku City Executive Authority provided the information to “Operative Information Center-OMM”.
The land allocated for the park covers nearly 10 hectares, officials said.
Under a modern design developed jointly by foreign and experienced local architects, the road on Huseyn Rasulbayov Street, which currently runs through the center of the site, is being moved to the park’s northwestern boundary. The plans also include a pedestrian overpass connecting the junction of 28 May and Huseyn Rasulbayov streets with the park.
Construction has begun on the underground car park included in the project. The park will also feature sports facilities and playgrounds for different age groups, tennis courts, artificial lakes, an amphitheater and water reservoirs. The site will be equipped to ensure safe pedestrian movement, with crossing areas and bicycle paths, as well as decorative stone and granite paving.
Large green spaces will be created in the new park, with trees and shrubs planted and floral arrangements added.
