President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of the Pirqulu Park hotel in Shamakhi on September 17.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Fariz Abbaszade, a representative of Moderngroup LLC, briefed the head of state and the first lady on the facilities created at the hotel.
The hotel, built in the Pirqulu settlement, is located near the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory. The 16-hectare complex includes two hotel buildings, one with a capacity of 188 guests and the other with 172. It has 175 rooms of various categories and two cottages, allowing up to 366 guests to stay at the hotel at the same time. The complex also features restaurants, cafes and a 160-seat hall for meetings and training sessions. A congress building with a capacity of 600 people, a children's entertainment center and an amphitheater have also been established on the premises.
Tourism is one of the priority areas of Azerbaijan's state policy, with efforts focused on the sector's sustainable and comprehensive development. Azerbaijan's natural resources, rich historical and cultural heritage, diverse climate and state-backed tourism initiatives are helping make the country an attractive destination for visitors from around the world. Pirqulu Park adds to the tourism infrastructure of Shamakhi, a region known for its mountain landscapes and proximity to the observatory.
