Former national team player and AFFA Technical Department Scouting Section head Bakhtiyar Musayev welcomed Ayhan Abbasov’s decision to call up young players to Azerbaijan’s senior national team.
Musayev said he watched Eshgin Ahmadov and Nihad Ahmadzada play for the Under-21 team against Czechia. He said all three players have potential and could become key members of the national team in the future.
“Rather than calling up older players, young players like these should be given a chance. I welcome Ayhan Abbasov’s move,” Musayev said. He also noted that some local players become complacent and urged young players to put that feeling aside and work harder.
Eshgin Ahmadov, Nihad Ahmadzada and Lorenzo Mezzoterono have received their first call-ups to the senior national team.
