Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand has named what he considers the greatest achievement of Cristiano Ronaldo’s career.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand Presents, Ferdinand said Ronaldo’s main achievement was changing perceptions of professionalism. He said the footballer set new standards in professional conduct, physical fitness, career longevity, care for health and attention to detail, while putting everything into extending his career and continuing to play his best football.
On November 5, the 41-year-old Al-Nassr forward announced that he was retiring from Portugal’s national team.
Ronaldo made 234 appearances for Portugal, scoring 146 goals and providing 45 assists.
