India’s Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has invited Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to visit India.
Jaishankar made the announcement at a joint news conference with Bayramov in Baku, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
“I invited Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to visit India at a time convenient to him,” he said.
The ministers also agreed to exchange delegations on trade and other areas of cooperation, Jaishankar said.
He described the talks as productive, saying they had helped identify future steps to develop bilateral relations.
Jaishankar also thanked Azerbaijan for helping evacuate Indian citizens from Iran amid the conflict in the Middle East. “I would particularly like to express our gratitude for the assistance provided earlier this year in evacuating Indian citizens, especially students, from Iran,” he said.
