Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone call.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) told the “Operative Information Center-OMM” about the call.

They discussed the current state and prospects for developing Azerbaijan-US strategic partnership relations, as well as issues related to the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.

The sides noted significant progress in developing strategic partnership ties since the historic summit held in Washington on Aug. 8, 2025.

They stressed the importance of the working groups established under the Azerbaijan-US Strategic Partnership Charter in further deepening bilateral cooperation across the priority areas set out in the document.

The call also addressed major results achieved within the Azerbaijan-US strategic partnership in 2026. The sides noted that documents signed in areas including energy, hydrocarbon exploration, development and production, investment, digital technologies and trade—during Baku Energy Week and the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum—had significantly expanded the practical scope of bilateral cooperation.

Bayramov briefed Rubio on Azerbaijan’s consistent steps to advance its peace agenda, build confidence and strengthen regional stability.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
