The Persian Gulf Shipping Administration (PGSA) has published a list of 77 vessels allegedly found to have violated shipping rules in the Strait of Hormuz.

"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports, citing foreign media outlets.

According to a statement issued by the administration, vessels that violate Iran’s shipping protocols established for the Strait of Hormuz may face various restrictions during future transits of the strait.

These restrictions include fines, detention of the vessel and confiscation in the event of a repeated attempt.

Tehran has advised all cargo owners operating in the Persian Gulf to check the published list to avoid potential problems in the future.

The PGSA also warned that other vessels cooperating with listed ships in ship-to-ship cargo transfers or the transfer of cargo from one vessel to another would also be added to the list.

The Strait of Hormuz connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and is one of the world’s key maritime routes, carrying a significant share of global energy shipments.
