İlham Əliyev: Azərbaycan-Ermənistan səfərləri sülhə töhfə verir

President Ilham Aliyev stated that mutual visits between Azerbaijan and Armenia contribute significantly to the peace process and the establishment of a normal environment in the region. Speaking during a joint press statement with Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs in Baku on April 22, the head of state noted that significant progress has been made since the signing of the Joint Declaration at the White House.

"Trade is being conducted; in particular, the export of fuel products from Azerbaijan to Armenia has commenced," President Ilham Aliyev said, as reported by Operative Information Center-OMM. The President further emphasized that reciprocal visits and meetings between civil society members and media representatives from both countries are vital steps toward restoring mutual trust and fostering a stable atmosphere in the South Caucasus.

The normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia follows the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and the conclusion of the conflict in the Garabagh region. Recent diplomatic efforts have focused on border delimitation, the opening of regional transport communications, and the drafting of a final peace treaty. The involvement of international partners, such as Latvia, underscores the global interest in ensuring long-term stability and economic integration within the strategic South Caucasus corridor.
