Detained Balakan official’s daughter reappointed as judge

Farida Rzayeva, daughter of Islam Rzayev, the former head of the Balakan District Executive Authority who is currently in custody, has been reappointed as a judge.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports, citing gununsesi.info, that President Ilham Aliyev recently issued an order appointing judges to courts of first instance, which reappointed Farida Islam gizi Rzayeva as a judge at the Surakhani District Court in Baku.

Islam Rzayev was detained in an operation conducted by the State Security Service (SSS), and a criminal case was opened against him.

Investigative actions related to the case are ongoing.
