Four airstrikes targeted weapons depots and military vehicles belonging to Yemen’s Houthi group at the Central Security Camp in Al-Bayda province, Al-Jumhuriya TV reported, citing field sources, according to Anadolu Agency.

The broadcaster gave no details about casualties or the extent of the damage. The party responsible for the attack remained unidentified.

The Houthis control most of Al-Bayda, a strategically important province in central Yemen that borders eight other provinces.

Since Oct. 5, Yemeni government forces have been conducting an operation called “Dawn of Yemen”, aimed at regaining control of state institutions and retaking the capital, Sanaa, from the group.

Fighting between the two sides resumed in July, killing and wounding thousands and displacing more than 250,000 people, according to UN reports.

The renewed fighting ended a period of relative calm that had prevailed since April 2022, worsening Yemen’s humanitarian crisis amid continued conflict and displacement.

Yemen has been mired in civil war since the Houthis seized Sanaa and several provinces in September 2014. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in March 2015 in support of the internationally recognized government.
