Como beat Lens 9-1 away on November 4 in the fourth round of the 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League league phase.
Douvikas scored in the 7th, 32nd and 57th minutes for the visitors, while Paz found the net in the 40th, Da Cunha in the 47th, Kempf in the 54th, Liberali in the 62nd, Baturina in the 69th and Papac in stoppage time at 90+1. Aguilar scored Lens’ only goal in the 65th minute.
Como head coach Cesc Fabregas called the result a great evening for the team, the fans and the players. He said everything had gone their way, but that they had already turned their attention to Sunday’s match against Inter.
Fabregas urged his team to stay humble and work hard. “Let’s not get carried away. I’m angry about the goal we conceded,” he said.
The coach said it had been important to collect as many points as possible early in the competition, adding that many matches remained. Como are missing several players because of injuries. The team will give everything against Inter before the international break, then try to rest.
According to Fabregas, Como will face PSG in the Champions League on January 20 and Barcelona on January 27. His comments were reported by Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.
