Araz-Nakhchivan president Ceyhun Sultanov said he was unhappy with the team’s performance in the Misli Premier League. He assessed the results of the Nakhchivan side, which are bottom of the table in 12th place with two points after eight rounds.
“It is impossible to be satisfied when you look at the results after eight rounds. If you are at the bottom, of course you will be unhappy. But I believe we can get out of this situation. In general, if you want to change something or take action, you can do so only through the players. The players can get the team out of this situation,” Sultanov said.
The club president added that he had expressed the same view at places where he had worked before: “If you do your best, but the 11 players on the pitch cannot do the same, it will be of no significance.”
Sultanov said he believed the team would turn its situation around and wanted to see that happen in the upcoming matches. He said the players and head coach could achieve this, adding that the team had confidence and that time would show what lay ahead.
In the ninth round, Araz-Nakhchivan will host Gabala at Shamakhi City Stadium. The match will kick off at 15:00 on October 23.
