New facilities are planned to dispose of dead animals and biological waste in Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the measure is included in the “2027–2032 State Program on Ensuring Food Safety,” approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the information, the program also provides for studying international experience in establishing disposal facilities.
Measures will also be organized to raise farmers’ and entrepreneurs’ awareness of the main models used internationally. Applications from business entities for the establishment and design of facilities for disposing of dead animals and biological waste will likewise be evaluated.
The planned system is intended to support safer handling of animal by-products and biological waste while reducing potential environmental and public health risks. International practices can help determine appropriate technologies, operating standards and oversight mechanisms for such facilities.
