The Plenum of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan held its latest meeting.
The Supreme Court provided the information to “Operative Information Center-OMM”, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
It said the meeting discussed and approved a draft decision by the Supreme Court Plenum on judicial practice concerning conditional early release from punishment, replacing the unserved part of a sentence with a lighter form of punishment, changing the type of penal institution, and release from serving a sentence due to illness.
The meeting also considered and approved a draft decision on amendments to several decisions of the Supreme Court Plenum.
Participants heard reports on judicial practice in applying legislation and the administration of justice at the Sumgait Administrative Court in 2025 and the first half of 2026.
The meeting then considered amendments to Decision No. 4 of the Supreme Court Plenum, dated January 16, 2023, on appointing members of the Lawyers’ Qualification Commission who are judges.
Participants also discussed changes to the membership of the Supreme Court’s Scientific Advisory Council and adopted a relevant decision.
