One person was killed and six others were injured in a shooting at a Halloween store inside a shopping mall in California, Anadolu Agency reported, citing US media.
Police responded to the shooting at a “Spirit Halloween” store in Solano Town Center in Fairfield at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, “ABC News” reported.
Officers found seven people with gunshot wounds. One of them later died.
The six surviving victims were taken to local hospitals, with at least three in critical condition. Authorities have not released their identities.
“We encourage anyone in the community with information to contact the Fairfield Police Department,” Police Chief Dan Marshall was quoted by “ABC News” as saying.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses and working to identify the suspect. The shooting scene remains under investigation.
