A homicide committed 14 years ago in a private residential house on A. Faruq Street in the city of Goychay has been solved, following a joint operation by Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan released a joint statement regarding the case. According to the statement, the investigation was initiated by the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office based on operational data received from the Main Organized Crime Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs concerning the discovery of a man's body at the specified address on December 21, 2012. The victim was identified as Rza Agayev, born in 1932. Extensive investigative measures, including body exhumation, forensic examinations, and reconstruction of the crime scene, revealed that Ramila Guliyeva entered Agayev's home on December 20, 2012, with the intent to steal his money, and fatally beat him with a wooden object. On May 26, 2026, Guliyeva was formally charged under Article 120.1 (deliberate murder) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
