Amendments have been made to Azerbaijan’s laws “On the suspension of inspections in the field of entrepreneurship” and “On environmental impact assessment.”

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that President Ilham Aliyev has signed the relevant law.

The amendments set environmental impact assessment (EIA) thresholds for agricultural production facilities.

The thresholds are as follows:

- livestock facilities with a planned capacity of 1,000 cattle equivalents (five small ruminants count as one head of cattle, while each other hoofed animal counts as one head of cattle);

- poultry facilities with a capacity of 40,000 chicken equivalents (one ostrich counts as 25 chickens, one turkey or goose as five chickens, and eight quails as one chicken; birds at the incubation stage are excluded);

- fishery facilities, including aquaculture farms, with annual output of 500 tonnes.
