Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, has attended the opening of a newly established regional branch of the Center for Care of Homeless Animals in Yevlakh.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Leyla Aliyeva inspected the facilities at the center, reviewing the areas designated for the intake, examination, treatment, vaccination, sterilization, and rehabilitation of stray animals.
The regional branch, established on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, is designed to provide comprehensive care for homeless animals, ensure sanitary-epidemiological stability, maintain animal records, and organize preventive veterinary-sanitary measures. The complex, spanning a total area of 2.5 hectares, includes a clinic equipped with modern technology, specialized units for animal observation and treatment, administrative and auxiliary buildings, and a quarantine facility.
The new center in Yevlakh will operate as a regional branch of the Center for Care of Homeless Animals under the Baku City Executive Power. The decision to establish this branch in Yevlakh was driven by the city's strategic geographic location at the junction of major transport routes, which will allow for more rapid responses to inquiries regarding stray animals in surrounding cities and districts. This initiative reflects a broader effort to expand animal welfare measures beyond the capital to other regions of Azerbaijan, addressing the growing need for systematic animal management and public health safety.
