Starting from the evening of August 9, intermittent lightning and rainfall have been observed in several mountainous and foothill regions of Azerbaijan.

Authorities reported that in some areas, the precipitation has been torrential in nature.
Recorded rainfall amounts include 17 mm in Gadabay, 14 mm in Dashkasan, 9 mm in Aghstafa and Goygol, 7 mm in Shamkir, 6 mm in Ganja, 4 mm in Tovuz, 2 mm in Shaki, and 1 mm in Tartar, Yevlakh, Jeyranchol, Shahdag, and Naftalan.
Strong north-westerly winds have also been recorded in various locations, with maximum speeds reaching 21 m/s in Julfa and Mingachevir, 18 m/s in Naftalan, 17 m/s in Shabran, and 15 m/s in Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and Sadarak.
Maximum temperatures reached 39°C in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, 40°C in the Aran regions, 38°C in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and 27°C in mountainous areas.
The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors such weather fluctuations to ensure public safety. These meteorological shifts are typical for the summer season in Azerbaijan, where high temperatures are often followed by localized atmospheric instability, particularly in the country's diverse mountainous terrain.
