Representatives of all ethnic groups and religions in Azerbaijan live as one family.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, themed “Dialogue for a Common Future,” in Baku.
The head of state said one reason for Azerbaijan’s stable development was harmony in society.
“The traditions of multiculturalism and religious and ethnic tolerance are a legacy passed down by our peoples over the centuries. We value this highly. Representatives of all ethnic groups and religions not only have equal rights under our Constitution, but also live as one family. We see a very high level of solidarity, mutual understanding and respect. We are all united around national ideas. As they say, Azerbaijanism brings all the peoples of Azerbaijan together. This unity has been evident during the most difficult stages of our history of independence.”
