Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) has issued an important warning to passengers traveling on the Baku-Tbilisi passenger train, emphasizing that boarding requires several mandatory documents in addition to travel tickets.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing ADY, the required documents include the original physical passport (digital versions from the "mygov" platform are not accepted) and health insurance complying with Georgian regulations. Additionally, passengers traveling with a child under five must present a free ticket registered in the child's name. For minors traveling with only one parent, a notarized power of attorney from the other parent is required, while children traveling with another adult must have notarized consent from both parents.
"To ensure a fast and comfortable boarding process, please do not forget to bring these documents with you. The Baku-Tbilisi train will make its inaugural departure tonight at 23:10. We wish all our passengers a safe journey," ADY stated in an official release. The Baku-Tbilisi railway connection serves as a key transport link between Azerbaijan and Georgia, fostering regional tourism and strengthening bilateral ties.
